29th
you are hereby, cordially invited.
hi. my name is emily and i’m a believer in Jesus Christ.
i have created this group in austin, texas, to journey together wherever God may lead, but perhaps you’re wondering…what’s up with this?
allow me to give you some background. ever since i was a little girl, i could always sense right and wrong, and i knew in my heart there was more to life than my princess of powers dolls and hopscotch. it wasn’t until the 7th grade where i solidified my belief in God and accepted His gift of love.
knowing God has been a unique road of responsibility and learning who i am. there are times when i’ve felt i’ve walked life alone, but as i’ve matured in faith, i have learned God is always there even when i feel like He’s not. whilst i often piddle in the treasures of earth, He is always awaiting my return with a fattned calf for celebration and royal gaments of purple and red.
my recent move to austin has had it’s own battles and victories. simply put, i feel like God is bringing me out of a time of mourning. each day He creates me over and over again, and as i’ve become more established in the area, my heartstrings have been pulled to share my faith and vision for who God is and what He has done in my life in a NEW and restored way.
wine for Jesus is a place where people from all walks of life can come and participate in a dialog of who God is. God’s vision for this group is the glory and sanctification of His name, that we may multiply in numbers and share our story…His story…with the nations.
life is hard. period. we give and give in our daily lives at work, at home and in the lives of those who surround us. come and let us fill you up, and fill your cup with something good to drink.
there are no set studies, no workbooks, no membership fees. we meet the first tuesday of each month for wine and discussion. there are no leaders, but only facilitators…we are all equals and value the opinions and thoughts of all who attend. sometimes you might come and have everything to say, and sometimes you may find yourself simply observing the conversation.
so consider this, dear reader, your formal invitation to wine for Jesus.
dare i be so radical as to say we’re having church at a wine bar? i accept this dare.
join us?
